Information About Filters

There are several ways to identify the right filter:

Check the technical label on your ventilation unit. It usually shows the product name, which you can compare with the names listed on our website. Keep in mind that some manufacturers don’t update the product name when filter sizes change, so always verify the actual filter dimensions.

Consult the technical specifications in the maintenance manual to see if the product name and filter size match the description in our product information.

Measure the filter directly by removing it, and compare the dimensions with those listed in our product details to ensure a proper fit.

Some manufacturers produce identical units under different brand names. In many cases, our filters will work. To be certain, you can contact our chatbot—we’ll be happy to help you confirm compatibility.

Yes! You can find the right filters by searching with the dimensions (length × width × height), or you can contact our chatbot, and we’ll help you choose the correct filters.

Filters capture particles, which gradually reduces airflow. As a result, your ventilation system has to work harder, consuming more energy. A clogged filter increases pressure loss and electricity usage—and in the worst case, it can stop airflow completely.

According to EU Regulation No. 1253/2014, ventilation units must provide a filter replacement indicator. There are two common types:

  • Time-based replacement (e.g., every 90 days): It’s recommended to replace the filter at least twice a year.

  • Pressure-based indicator: Measures pressure loss. If it signals contamination, the filter should be replaced immediately.

  • Important: Failing to replace the filter may void your unit’s warranty and increase energy consumption.

Since July 1, 2018, the EN ISO 16890 standard has replaced the old EN 779. The new filter classes are: Coarse, ePM10, ePM2.5, and ePM1. ePM1 is generally recommended by Eurovent for supply air. Coarse or ePM10 filters are typically used as pre-filters or for exhaust air.

This depends on several factors:

  • Outdoor air quality (e.g., industrial areas, busy streets, construction sites): Poorer air quality leads to faster contamination—using pre-filters is recommended.

  • Filter efficiency: Higher-class filters capture more particles but also clog more quickly.

  • Low-quality filters (especially non-EU products): Often have higher pressure loss, shorter lifespan, and increased energy consumption.

Currently, we don’t offer this service, but we are exploring the possibility. In the meantime, we recommend setting a calendar reminder for your semi-annual filter replacement.

Yes, most of them are compatible. Please check your model or send us the details, and we’ll confirm compatibility for you.

Yes. Filters with wire frames can be vacuumed up to three times, as long as the manufacturer’s instructions allow it.

No. Washing damages the filter’s efficiency, surface, and shape.

When filters are dirty, air turbulence can form, causing dust to settle in a ring around the air intake. Check the filter and clean or replace it if necessary (every 3–6 months). If the intake is not properly sealed, unfiltered air can enter, which can also cause a dust ring. Make sure the vent is securely fitted and the seal is intact; add or replace the gasket (e.g., foam rubber) if needed.
